Ronnie van Rooyen Memorial Tournament

The annual Ronnie van Rooyen Memorial Tournament is once again being hosted Durban Harlequins RFC on the 25th & 26th of March 2011. This exciting tournament has become a permanent fixture in KZN club rugby and is played in honour of one of the greatest club administrators in KZN club rugby history.

"Uncle Ronnie", as he was affectionately known to all club rugby fans, played a big role in amalgamating the Wanderers and Grosvenor Old Boys rugby clubs in the early 80s. He served the newly formed Durban Harlequins RFC first as a player and then as an administrator. He was a great mentor to players and committee members.

On Friday 25th of March 2011 participating under 20 teams will compete in the Frank Norris league fixtures as per DRSU. On Saturday the 26th of March 2011 (this is the big day) on this day all the seniors sides compete.
