Castle Murray Cup

Varsity College Old Boys will be looking to pull out all the stops when they meet 2010 Castle Murray Cup champions Jonsson College Rovers in the first semi-final of this year’s competition at Goss and Balfe Crusaders tomorrow (Saturday) afternoon. The powerful Rovers outfit have unquestionably been the form side but rugby can be a funny old game and there will be many supporters of the club game looking for an upset and a good game looks set to be on the cards.

The game kicks off at 1.30 pm and entertainment for families, supporters and friends of club rugby has been laid on and together and with the fabulous Castle dancing girls on hand a festive afternoon of rugby can be expected.

The Rovers second stringers have gone through to the final of the Peter Taylor Trophy knockout competition after Ricoh Maritzburg Collegians withdrew and will face the winners of the other semi-final clash between Old Boys and Durban Collegians

In the other semi final scheduled for a 3.30 pm kickoff Acer Durban Collegians will face the 2008 champions ZRA Thanda Zululand Rhinos.

In the Junior Murray Cup semi-finals Amanzimtoti host Vryheid and Jaguars travel to the Bluff to face Harlequins both games kicking off at 3pm.
