The KZNRU support the SA Rugby 'BokSmart' Initiative and urge all to familiarise themselves with the concept and become BokSmart Accredited.

The Boksmart courses are held by Archie Sehlako every month. However, these are number specific and will only be conducted should there be a demand of 15 coaches or more. Archie can be contacted on .

In 2006, SARU in conjunction with the Chris Burger/Petro Jackson Players’ Fund, embarked upon developing an action plan to reduce the increasing number of serious head, neck and spine injuries associated with the game of rugby union in SA. After various workshops with all local relevant rugby stakeholders during 2006 and 2007, the concept of the BokSmart National Rugby Safety programme was borne.
